Learning materials yesterday, today and tomorrow.

In keeping with the theme of this event Foreign language teacher yesterday, today and tomorrow, this session will look at learning materials of yesterday, today and tomorrow.

2020 has impacted us all; the situation has tested and challenged the very process of teaching and learning and the adaptability of materials. We will outline several broad approaches that were taken to support learning during school closures and we will identify which description best matches our individual experience.

We will look specifically at learning materials at B2 and C1 level and highlight which features made these more or less friendly to use in various situations. Which changes to our approach produced positive outcomes, what will we incorporate into classroom teaching for tomorrow, and what will some of us run a mile from?

Looking into 2021 I will give you a glimpse of how online assessment will integrate into learning to help students practice for Cambridge qualifications.
