I have been involved in education since 1995. I work as an Senior ELT Consultant and Teacher Trainer for Oxford University Press, but I am also a teacher. Teaching for me is not just making my students learn English but first of all it is about giving young people time and space to discover who they are, to find out their passions or work out skills they will need in the future. I had a chance to talk about it and about various concepts in traditional and alternative education at a number of conferences. If I were not a teacher, I would probably end up as an archaeologist digging with passion somewhere in Egypt.

Introducing STE(A)M into ELT Classroom

During my session I am going to talk about the concept of STE(A)M in education: how practices such as design or visual thinking, problem solving, generating questions, sharing, engaging with interdisciplinary projects using various traditional and digital tools can empower our teaching, but first of all, students’ learning. This 45-minute talk will be based on practical ideas tested in the ELT classroom and experience gained from teaching learners aged 10-17.
